Chocolate Thyme Cookies...

Hello everyone, hope you enjoyed your Valentine's weekend. I sure did, my sweet Boo surprised me with a trip to the spa, a home cooked meal of lobster and steak, complete with roses and candles set fireside. He's a total dreamboat!

The weather here has been amazing, sorry to the rest of the country who is suffering from another winter vortex. I promise you if you make these cookies they will warm you right up. The original recipe came up on my Pinterest feed and I was instantly smitten. They were added to the top of "make me right now" list.

Raspberry Chocolate Almond Muffins and having some computer issues...

Good morning, I  hope your day is starting off great! I'm having some computer issues that started off late yesterday and you can tell by the quality of my photos in today's post. Its frustrating to say the least.

I wanted to make a muffin for Valentine's Day morning, something that spoke love. And I LOVE the combination of raspberry, chocolate, and almond; there's something magical about it. I think its a perfect thing to wake up to besides your boo.

Valentine's Day DIY and our niche...

Valentine's Day is so close I can smell it, or is that all the goodies I've been baking?!?! Last year I was playing for the other team, as excited as I was there was still part of me that was bitter for being single. This year more than makes up for all the single years, I'm head-over-heels for my Boo; he's simply amazing and my biggest fan and support system. I LOVE YOU, BRANDON!!!

As excited as I am about being in love, I'm excited to finally announce that Liam and I are moving into his house. We've pretty much settled in for a while now, but its almost official. There is some difference in opinions with decorating and whatnot, I sure he'll get my eye for design eventually.

Yesterday Liam and I had a little craft day and we made some Valentine's decorations. We picked up some wooden hearts at Joann's for only $5, I had some paint on hand; and we went to town. Its always fun watching your little one get creative. He used the same colors as I did, but ultimately chose his own design. The whole time he was painting he kept saying, "I'm making this for Grandma Lisa", Brandon's mom. He even got to give it to her himself.

I'm pretty impressed by his...see for yourself.

I wanted something a little girly and modern, think Kate Spade...

As for the niche above our fireplace, its weird and awkward. I'm really at a loss as to what the hell to do with it, its meant for an old-school box TV. I say lets cover it up however Boo says "no way". The whole thing could use a makeover, in the future for sure!

Have you gotten crafty this Valentine's?

Valentine's Day Sugar Cookies...

Hard to believe that Valentine's Day is on Friday! I've done little to no planning for the holiday. Last year was insane, I went way overboard; but I loved it! You can see our entire fun filled day HERE. I'm so glad I documented the day, looking back on it almost brings me to tears.

Liam's class is having a little party and I love including some home-baked goodies for the kiddos to take home. Liam asked that I make his class sugar cookies with their names on it. I obliged and I already have them all done, bagged, and ready to go.

This recipe is great, I made it last year around Easter, you can find the recipe HERE. The cookie can be made ahead of time, decorated, and frozen until you need it. Definitely user friendly and delicious!

I have a few more projects lined up this week to share with you. Tomorrow will be a DIY project that's fun for the whole family. Be sure to check back every day this week for something new and Valentine's Day related.

Chicken Marsala and getting out of my funk...

We all plan to start the new year out fresh, organized, and healthy. I had a list a mile long of things I wanted to start, continue, or finish; but nothing happened. We got back from Maui and I was in this rut that I'm still trying to pull myself out of. I don't know if its winter or what, enough is enough. I've had pictures to edit for a few blog posts that have been just sitting there. Content to organize, all of it collecting dust. This morning I pulled myself out of bed with a mission to get back into the swing of things. Hopefully I can keep on track with these 2014 resolutions...are you still doing your resolutions?

In the month of December I hardly made it into the kitchen, with so many parties and events going on it just didn't happen. I was so excited to actually get back and cook my butt off. So many recipes to try and test, its hard to pick which one first. I've been wanting to make Chicken Marsala for some time now. Liam loves Chicken Piccata so I had a feeling he would enjoy this recipe too, and was I right. He didn't care for the mushrooms, but the sweet sauce was right up his alley.
